Transform your living spaces with the perfect window treatments that blend style, function, and customization. Whether you're considering an elegant cornice, versatile curtains, or functional blinds, our guide will help you understand the basics of each option. Explore the different types of window treatments and design choices available, so you can create a look that’s uniquely yours.

Valance
A valance is a short drapery panel that sits at the top of a window, either installed with a curtain or drapery rod or stapled to a backboard. It has a soft appearance that can be styled casually or formally. Valances add instant interest when paired with other window treatments, or can stand alone, offering visual appeal without obstructing a beautiful view.
Cornice
A cornice is a hard top treatment with the fabric typically upholstered to a board with no loose fabric hanging down. You can vary the shape, look and size pending on the window and aesthetics of the room.

Pinched Pleat Curtain
The pleats are stitched and pinched at the top, allowing the folds of the fabric to flow below and create an elegant, formal look.
Pinch pleat curtains range from two-finger pleats to five-finger pleats. More pleats give the curtains a fuller appearance.
Box or Inverted Pleat Curtain
Box pleats, also known as inverted pleats, have the fullness at the back, creating a flat, clean drapery face ideal for contemporary interiors. They consist of two knife pleats folded away from each other, forming a wide vertical pleat.

Eyelet or Grommet
Grommet or eyelet curtains are a contemporary, modern style. Open rings (or grommets) support the panels and enable you to open or close the curtains with ease.
Tab Topped Curtains
Tab top curtains have prominent loops that hang from the top seam of the panels and are easy to thread through a curtain rod.

Roman Shade
A roman shade is a fabric window covering that gradually folds up as you pull the drawstring. Made from various materials and available in many styles, its defining feature is the way the fabric gradually folds upward, adding a touch of softness and elegance to your windows.
SmartDrape Shades by Norman
Similar to a drape, the individual vane construction has two opacities. Set the shades to “open” for a clearer view of the outside and better illumination. Rotate the shades to “closed” and the light filtering or room darkening capabilities are activated, while still having the option to walk through the vanes as needed.
